LiAngelo Ball is making waves in music after signing a massive $13 million deal with Def Jam Recordings, his team confirmed on Monday (Jan. 13). The deal locks in $8 million guaranteed and lets the former basketball star keep full ownership of his music and his label, Born to Ball Music Group.
Performing as G3 GELO, LiAngelo earned the deal thanks to the viral success of his single “Tweaker.” The track first caught fire on N3on’s livestream and quickly picked up support from stars like Lil Yachty, Meek Mill, and T-Pain. With lines like, “I might swerve, bend that corner, woah / B***h, hold on tight 'cause I tweak in this b***h, start lettin' s**t go,” the song became an instant social media hit.
Even NBA players are fans of “Tweaker.” Damian Lillard, who raps as Dame D.O.L.L.A., called it a “big record” that reminds him of the early 2000s. Lonzo Ball, LiAngelo’s brother and Chicago Bulls guard, cleared up his role in the song on X (formerly Twitter), saying his only credit was designing the cover art.
Next up, LiAngelo will take the stage at Rolling Loud California on March 15, performing alongside heavy hitters like ASAP Rocky, YG, and Sexyy Red. “When something is going, it’s going,” Lillard said. “I’m happy for him. It’s everywhere.”
LiAngelo Ball is proving that his talents go beyond the court. With “Tweaker” and his Def Jam deal, he’s making a bold entrance into the music industry.
